Apple’s new personal assistant software Siri is apparently filled with easter eggs and clever, tongue-in-cheek responses to certain questions. Wired has a run-down of some of the better ones.
Funny CSS for those developers with a sense of humor. Rotates random images, makes everything slightly blurry, randomly hides page elements, and brings back the <blink> tag!
An interesting discussion from the developer of the Hipmunk iPhone app. If you don’t know, Hipmunk is a new way to search for flights and is a nice breath of fresh air from the usual flight search companies (even Kayak).
Some choice quotes:
Drawing things is much faster and easier than coding them. When one or all of us hated some part of the nascent interface or experience, it was trivial to drag some boxes around until our pain went away. This minimized the chance that something shitty would ship as part of the app. There’s something about coding a feature that calcifies it.
If you don’t prototype your application before you start building, you’re doing it wrong. It’s just too much value for so little effort, you’d be nuts not to try it out.
